Getting there:
Figari - 28 km. Flights every Sunday with Thomsonfly.com from London Gatwick and cost from £130 return.
Ajaccio is another option for airport with more flights coming in from the UK.
Recommended - hire a car, you'll get to explore Corsica and you may even have time to go to Sardinia for a day.

The roads are often quiet and the weather is mild in winter and warm in summer.
Southern Corsica is just 12km from Sardinia so is influenced in it's atmosphere and architecture by Italy.

A must is to visit Bonifacio. The medeival old town is the oldest in Corsica with a fascinating harbour, delicious restaurants and great coastline.
Elsewhere there are plenty of coves and places of natural beauty to be admired. Most beaches are child friendly but do bear in mind that it's also a sailor's haven as it's quite windy.
You will need a car to get the most from Corsica.
